Fit & Fix Cardiff Ltd

Last updated: February 2026

In Simple Terms

These terms explain how your kitchen installation is carried out, how payments are staged, what “First Fix” means, and what happens if specialist worktops or missing items cause a delay.

If anything isn’t clear, just ask — we’re always happy to explain before work begins.

1. About Us

Fit & Fix Cardiff Ltd
Company number: 16452749
Registered and trading address:
Unit 3, Radyr Court, Cardiff, South Wales

Fit & Fix provides kitchen installation services and home maintenance services across Cardiff and South Wales.

2. Scope of Services

Kitchen Installation

Fit & Fix provides installation services only. We do not supply kitchens, appliances, or materials unless explicitly agreed in writing.

Installations are carried out based on information provided by the customer and/or their kitchen supplier. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all supplied items are correct, complete, and available on site at the agreed time.

Fit & Fix is not responsible for delays or issues caused by supplier lead times, incorrect deliveries, or incomplete kitchen orders.

Home Maintenance

Home maintenance services include small repair, improvement, or remedial works and are charged separately under different payment terms.

3. Estimates & Quotations
  • Online estimates are indicative only and are not legally binding.

  • Formal quotations are issued following review of the information provided and, where applicable, a site visit.

  • All quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

4. Payments

Kitchen Installation Payments

Kitchen installation payments are staged as follows:

  • 20% deposit to proceed

  • 30% payment to secure and schedule installation

  • 50% balance due on completion of First Fix (see Section 5)

Staged payments reflect the progress of work on site and allow installations to be carried out efficiently and without unnecessary delays.

Work may be paused if staged payments are not received on time.

Home Maintenance Payments

Home maintenance jobs require 100% payment upfront, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Installation Process & First Fix Definition

When an installation begins, Fit & Fix will carry out as much of the agreed work as is reasonably possible in a single visit.

The First Fix stage is deemed complete when all installation work that can be carried out without delay has been completed, and progress is prevented only by factors outside of Fit & Fix’s control.

First Fix completion may occur in (but is not limited to) the following scenarios:

a) Where the customer has chosen solid surface worktops (including quartz, granite, ceramic or similar), and the installation requires templating and manufacture following the installation of base units. In this case, First Fix is completed once all preparatory installation work has been carried out and the kitchen is ready for templating.

b) Where required items are missing, damaged, incorrect, or unavailable, and replacement items must be ordered with an extended lead time. If installation cannot reasonably continue until those items are available, First Fix is deemed complete at the point the installation team leaves site.

Upon completion of First Fix, the final staged payment (50%) becomes due, regardless of whether a return visit is required to complete the installation.

6. Changes & Variations

Any changes to the agreed scope of work must be confirmed in writing.
Additional work may incur additional charges and may affect timelines.

7. Customer Responsibilities

To allow work to proceed smoothly, customers are responsible for the following:

  • Providing clear and safe access to the property

  • Ensuring utilities (water and electricity) are available

  • Ensuring all required items are present on site

  • Securing pets and valuables

Waste removal is the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Delays caused by lack of access, missing items, or incorrect information may result in additional charges.

8. Workmanship Guarantee

All kitchen installation work is covered by a 2-year workmanship guarantee.

This guarantee does not cover:

  • Manufacturer defects

  • Customer-supplied products

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Damage caused by misuse or third-party works

9. Insurance

All installation work is carried out by experienced installers who are fully insured.

At the time of installation, public liability insurance of £2 million is held through Fit & Fix’s sister company, German Kitchens Cardiff Ltd, under which the installation team is currently employed. This insurance provides appropriate cover for the installation services carried out on site.

10. Cancellations & Cooling-Off Period

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, customers have a 14-day cooling-off period for contracts agreed off-premises or at a distance.

If the customer requests work to begin within the 14-day cooling-off period, they acknowledge and agree that:

  • Once the service has been fully carried out, the right to cancel is lost

  • If the service has been partially completed, payment may be required for work already undertaken

This ensures work can begin promptly while remaining compliant with consumer protection regulations.

Cancellations made after work has been scheduled may result in charges for labour, materials, or time already committed.

11. Complaints & Concerns

If you have any concerns about the work carried out, please contact us as soon as possible so the issue can be addressed promptly.

Complaints should be raised via email or phone using the contact details provided on our website.

12. Liability

Fit & Fix is not liable for:

  • Pre-existing structural issues

  • Defects in customer-supplied products

  • Loss caused by inaccurate information supplied by the customer

Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
